Here at Scott Rowe we are pleased to have a dedicated Family Law Team which also benefits from the support of our litigation colleagues.
We understand that speaking with a solicitor about personal family matters for the first time can feel daunting and so we are taking the opportunity to introduce to our team so that you know who you will be dealing with.
Carrie qualified as a solicitor in 2010 and has always specialised in family law.
Carrie has undertaken extensive work involving disputes between parents and matters were there are concerns about domestic abuse. Carrie previously undertook legal aid work in earlier roles and as such has worked with a large range of clients and has experience of cases involving very serious issues and concerns about children.
Carrie is a member of Resolution and is accredited by them as a Family Law Specialist with specific accreditation in children and domestic abuse cases.
Carrie also undertakes a significant amount of work on divorce cases and disputes about matrimonial finances.
Carrie is an experienced advocate who throughout her career has represented clients at numerous Court hearings.
Carrie aims to provide clients with not only the necessary legal advice but also a level of support at what is often a very difficult time.
Peter has worked at Scott Rowe for a number of years after obtaining his Master of Laws degree in professional legal practice. Initially Peter worked at the firm as a secretary but has gone on to complete a training contract with us, qualifying as a solicitor on 1 October 2020.
Prior to qualifying Peter had spent several months training with the family team and upon qualification it was his preference to continue working within family law.
The training Peter received both as a trainee solicitor and prior to that whilst working for Scott Rowe has enabled him to “hit the ground running” and he is rapidly gaining even more experience in all areas of family law. At the moment at least he will report that he particularly enjoys dealing with financial matters for clients.
Andrew joined Scott Rowe in November 2019 and works primarily in the civil litigation team.
The family team is, however, extremely lucky to benefit from Andrew’s experiences of also working as a family law solicitor in previous roles. Andrew’s experience has focussed upon the financial aspects of family law. This enables Andrew to provide the family team with invaluable support both in the managing of cases but also as a resource upon whose knowledge the family team can draw.
Andrew’s combination of knowledge of both family and civil law means that he is ideally placed to assist unmarried couples who may have disputes about property ownership.
Andrew is an extremely experienced advocate and he holds Higher Rights of Audience, an achievement that highlights his skilled and experienced approach to advocacy.
Angela joined Scott Rowe in October 2020 and does an outstanding job of supporting all of the family team in a secretarial role.
Angela ensures that the entire team is kept organised and productive. She is always on hand to speak with a client if the fee-earner they usually deal with is unavailable. Whilst she cannot offer advice she will offer support and ensure that the client’s question or query is addressed by the appropriate fee-earner as soon as possible.
Vanessa is not, strictly speaking, a member of the family team. Rather she is the face and voice of Scott Rowe from her place behind the reception desk. She will usually be the first person a client will speak to when they visit or telephone the office.
Vanessa will assist client’s in a friendly and straightforward manner to ensure that they speak with, or see, the appropriate person at the earliest opportunity.
